Staff Geologist

We seek an enthusiastic individual for an exciting opportunity with one of Florida’s most respected geophysical and geologic consulting firms.  This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in geology and experience in performing geophysical surveys to evaluate subsurface soil conditions and geologic conditions at various sites in Florida.  This is a full time, salaried position based in our Tampa office.

Job Description

Overview: Conduct geophysical studies and apply your geologic knowledge to deliver excellent products and service to our clients.

Daily activities include: 

  • Conduct geophysical surveys and other types of consulting projects. 

o       Must be experienced in Ground Penetrating Radar (GSSI equipment preferred), Electrical Resistivity Imaging (AGI equipment), Electromagnetic Surveys, Seismic Surveys, and other geophysical techniques.

  • Communicate with clients concerning survey results, project status, and alternative applications.
  • Assist in the completion of in-office reports.
  • Use computer software on a daily basis to accomplish tasks, (i.e. Windows, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Email, and other geophysical software).
  • Complete other tasks, as assigned.

  • Demonstrates strong teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, both verbal and written.  

 

Required Qualifications

·        2-3 years experience.

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Geology.

·        Must be willing to travel within Florida or the southeast US, occasionally requiring overnight stays out of town.

·        Must be physically fit and able to conduct physical outdoor work.

·        Must have a satisfactory driving record.
